Dear eNews Friends & Family,I hope that you have all had an amazing Easter Celebration! We thank God that we are able to report that last weekend we saw the highest attendance at church since the lockdowns lifted, with many responding to give their lives to Jesus. We are also so delighted to see so many children give their lives to the Lord, as Matt and Victoria with their diligent team pick up our all-important Destiny Kids and Youth ministry.Psalm 110:1-3 says this:

The Lord says to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” The Lord sends forth from Zion your mighty scepter. Rule in the midst of your enemies! Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power, in holy garments; from the womb of the morning, the dew of your youth will be yours."

This line Your people will offer themselves freely on the day of your power means people will freely VOLUNTEER in the day of the Lord's power. You may not know this, but this Psalm is actually the most quoted Old Testament scripture in the New Testament. You could say it’s God’s favorite Psalm, in that the Holy Spirit just keeps on saying it!Friends, God is moving. The day of His power is here and now. Are we then willing volunteers? As we sometimes say, we are not a cruise ship with 5,000 passengers and 150 crew, but we are a battleship with all hands on deck. There is room in this church for you! You have a destiny and are designed by God to fulfill a special mission here on earth. Serving and involving is your mission, should you wish to accept it, and with God it’s mission POSSIBLE!Come and serve with us! If you’re already in a team, please get right in and behind the journey at hand. If you are not connected to one yet, please write back to me directly at connect@destiny-church.com and I will make sure that you get an invite without delay! YOU CAN ALSO CLICK HERE TO APPLY TO SERVEThere is a big difference between conscripts and volunteers.Conscripts say: Do I have to serve?Volunteers say: I get to serve!Pray about where you are supposed to serve. Having just completed a powerful series on the cross, and just celebrated easter and all that means to us, our hearts must feel the full effect of that cross on our lives - Paul said it like this:"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20

Calling All Destiny Kids ParentsIn case you haven't heard, we have changed the way we run Destiny Kids as of last Sunday. In most of our locations, the children are out from the outset of the meeting. This means we need parents to bring their children to church in a timely fashion so that they can fully enjoy the programme that our Kids Team has prepared. We also need you to work with and understand the registration protocol each week. Please make sure to take your child to their class after checking them in, keep and present your printed numerical tag when picking them up, and help our teams by keeping your phone handy in case they need to get ahold of you during service. We are intent on providing a safe and happy environment for all of the children in our midst.Further, in some locations like Glasgow City, we are full to absolute capacity (What a great problem! Keep praying for that new building!). Therefore, if you are not involved with either the Kids Ministry or need The Baby Room, please do not go into those spaces. Please also do not hang out in the foyer catching up with friends when the meeting is in progress, join us!
There is a fresh wind of the Holy Spirit blowing, I have spoken to a few pastors from other churches this week and they also reported the highest attendance in their services last week. The world is in utter chaos, many people are devoid of hope, and we the church are God’s address on earth. Let’s enjoy what God is doing in us, with us, and through us, and at the same time throw wide the doors with a huge, big smile saying- Welcome Home.Love you guys, see you on the weekend.Andrew OwenSenior Pastor Destiny Church
