Pastor Andrew Owen
Dear eNews friends and church members,
Count me in!
Just this week, we reported back to the church here in Glasgow on our very recent ‘Mission Possible’ teaching programme. This of course culminated in an unusual special offering, not one of finance, but the giving of ourselves afresh to God and His purposes in our city and beyond. We marked the moment by inviting existing members and new folks alike, to sign up to a pledge card which simply said, Count me in.We thank God that this resulted in a 29% growth in our church family over just a few months. In particular, this moment asked for a new commitment, or a recommitment to 5 essential things:
- To walk in love and integrity with those in our church family
- To pray for our church and the work and mission
- To frequently and often share my faith and invite others
- To consistently and regularly bring in my tithes & offerings
- To use my gifts and abilities to serve our church and the community
From this moment, we can both say nothing has changed, and yet everything has changed. We have decided afresh to follow Jesus - and many new people (over 100+) have made the same decision. As we now walk out this commitment, I am convinced that God will release even more blessing from Heaven.
How good and how pleasant it is, when brothers dwell together as one...…there the Lord has decreed a blessing, life for evermorePsalm 133 v1 & v3
Living in such a way and within such a place, will result in both LIFE and BLESSING for all those there. Why would you want to live anywhere else, or in any other way? Can’t wait to see what this month brings! So building on this I'm very excited to share with you about Christmas at Destiny!
