Dear e-News friends and church members,This week we start a brand-new teaching series called ‘Taking Ground.’We all in someplace want to take ground, either personally or corporately as we aim to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth.It’s a unique series in that we will be looking into two biblical books at the same time.First the book of Joshua and his adventures as he leads the people of Israel into the Promised Land. God expressly told them to take ground. Do you remember the words ‘every place the sole of your foot treads I have given to you’?Joshua has a corresponding New Testament equivalent - Ephesians!Both books are about taking Ground, not when we are dead and gone, but in the here and now.If we intend to take ground, we must also be up for a fight! And one we mean to win!! Maybe it’s a fight for your health or your future, your marriage or your family, maybe it’s the new town within which we intend to start.
