Prayer & Fasting Jan 2020 | Day 2
Craig Denham
Week of prayer and fasting day two: Tuesday
Before you decide: Fast and pray!"While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off….Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting, committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust " (Acts 13:2-3; 14:23)There will be a thousand decisions we will make today, most of which we won’t give more than a moment’s thought to.Fasting tunes us into God’s voice quite unlike anything else can. I wonder if the writer of this verse had fasting in mind when he penned…Proverbs 16:3 (NASB)3 Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established. Is there a better way to commit our plans to the Lord than to set aside time before taking action to pray and fast?Another author writes…“Fasting is an act of humility that spotlights our weaknesses and reveals dependence on things rather than on God.”― Gary RohrmayeToday as you fast and pray, what decisions do you need to make before the Lord?Pray into them along with these wider points for prayer:
- Where should we plant our next Destiny locations across Scotland, the UK and Glasgow? Even globally, which opportunities should we advance?
- When should we plant them?
- What day and time would work best?
- Who should go and pioneer them? Have you considered you?
- Then personally should you consider a destiny college course this year?
Whatever decisions you need to make today, this month or this year…Proverbs 16:3 (NASB)3 Commit your works to the Lord And your plans will be established.Keep going! God is with you.Craig
