Week of prayer and fasting day five: Friday
Fasting To Stay On Course!“Yet even now,” declares the Lord, “Return to Me with all your heart,And with fasting, weeping and mourning.”(Joel 2:12)I once heard someone say; “Nothing quite creates a hunger for God, like a hunger for God!It is so true, a few days of fasting and while Heaven doesn’t change, we certainly do.Prayer and fasting shows your flesh who is the boss...“By fasting, the body learns to obey the soul; by praying the soul learns to command the body.” - William SeckerPrayer and fasting changes us...Our passion for the lost increasesOur passion for God increasesOur heart for the poor increasesEverything moves forward when we fast, be encouraged today, your prayers are changing your world!Do not be surprised though, if while praying, you find yourself motivated to act.“The kind of fasting I want is this: Remove the chains of oppression and the yoke of injustice, and let the oppressed go free. Share your food with the hungry and open your homes to the homeless poor. Give clothes to those who have nothing to wear, and do not refuse to help your own relatives. Then my favor will shine on you like the morning sun, and your wounds will be quickly healed. I will always be with you to save you; my presence will protect you on every side.”(Isaiah 58:6-8 GNT)Pray today for the following:
- We would all be aware of opportunities to serve those less fortunate than ourselves.
- A whole new wave of social action ministries is birthed.
- Our serving teams and ministry departments are strengthened and grow.
- The Indian Orphanage is completed; support rises both prayerful and financial.
- Our works around the world know blessing, growth and favour.
Read that last verse of Isaiah 58 again (verse 8) did you see it?Favour will shine on you.You will be quickly healed.God will always be with you.Protection on every side.Settle for nothing less today!Craig
